Deflection - Beam Fixed At One End, Supported At Other - Concentrated Load At Any Point:
Calculation:
Designer/Checker:
Input:
Metric Units
(Note: All input Metric units are converted to English units for the equations below and then the output English units are converted back to Metric)
AISC Steel Design Manual, Table 3-23:
The following is for calculating the maximum deflection on a beam fixed at one end, supported at other with a concentrated load at any point.
Length of span (l - ft or m)
Concentrated load (P - kips or kN)
Distance to load from end (a - ft or m)
Distance to other end from load (b - ft or m)
Enter Moment of Inertia of beam (I - in^4 or mm^4)
Enter the Moment of Elasticity (E - ksi or MPa)*
*For Steel E = 29000 ksi (199948 MPa)
